DeckLok On "Monster House"
The creative minds from the popular television series Monster House are back at it again. They started their new season by turning a normal house into a creative lair suitable for Robin Hood and his merry men. The season premier, titled “Robin Hood House”, created an exotic treetop den in the spirit of England’s Sherwood Forest. However, their creation must still meet all building code requirements, including the lateral support and earthquake reinforcement required by the stat of California.To meet these current code requirements, the show producers turned to the DeckLok Company to provide the necessary reinforcement for all critical deck connections. The stainless steel version of the DeckLok bracket has been used to lock the deck substructure to the house and to resist the lateral forces that the structure will be subjected to.

DeckLok & Ledger Boards
DeckLok is a patented product that provides a bolt-on connection between your house and your sun deck. It stops catastrophic failure of decks by attaching directly to the house's floor joist! Order Now
Note: The International Residential Code (IRC) now requires the connection to the structure to be designed for both vertical and lateral load. DeckLok does this!
Current building code requires decks to be bolted to the band or rim board of the house. However, the band board was never designed to support another structure such as a deck or sunroom! It may only be end-nailed to the floor joists. Movement (walking, dancing) on the deck causes the naills to pull out, precipitating collapse of the deck.
The DeckLok bracket system is designed to keep this mode of failure from occuring. The brackets are used in tandem, sandwiching the end of the floor joists while bolts secure the deck ledger board (through the band board) to the floor joists. This provides a bolted attachment in a cost effective, easy to install fashion

Note: IBC Code now requires the guard rail post to resist a force of 500lbs at a point 36" above the surface of the deck. DeckLok does this!
Mounting the DeckLok brackets directly to the base of the rail post, or to the deck board, creates a solid mounting surface while still using traditional construction techniques. Independant laboratory testing confirms that the DeckLok System increases guard rail lateral load capacity by 4 times the current capacity.
Best of all, the versatility of the DeckLok System allows the brackets to be incorporated into the railing design without affecting the rail post spacing desired by the designer or installer. With DeckLok, the rail post spacing determines th eplacement of the bracket, not the other way around!

DeckLok Bracket Systems products are further warranted as to adequacy of design, provided products are properly specified and installed. This warranty does not apply in the event products are altered in any way or are improperly installed. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of products proven to be defective. DeckLok Bracket Systems has made no other warranty, express or implied, regarding its products, including, but not limited to, any warranty regarding merchantability or fitness for a specific purpose. Any claim that a product is defective must be brought within 1 month of the date of installation of such products by the original purchaser. Customer hereby agrees that no other incidental or consequential damages are the responsibility of DeckLok Bracket Systems.
We are unaware of any damages caused by defective DeckLok products or that any defective products have been sold and/or installed. Where parts are designed to work together, DeckLok products are not warranted if installed in conjunction with other non-DeckLok products. DeckLok products are not warranted if installed using fasteners other than those specifically recommended by our corresponding literature.
